With the dreary days of winter behind us, your car likely needs a good spring cleaning. Here are some tips for spring cleaning your car’s interior.

Remove Trash and Organize

Trash can accumulate over a season. Take a bag and work through every part of your car. Remove trash from all the cubbies, pockets, and floor. Once the trash is gone, organize everything that you keep in the car. Put sunglasses back where they belong, and coins in the change holder. Be sure to replenish supplies such as empty tissues, wipes, and air fresheners.

Clean Carpets and Floor Mats

Floor mats take a beating in the winter. Use a stiff brush to loosen dirt, salt, and other winter grime on both your mats and carpet. Run over them with a vacuum to suck up all the loosened debris. Some mats can be washed in your washing machine as well.

Clean Hard Surfaces and Seats

Brush off all the hard surfaces and seats in your car. Get into the vents, around the buttons and knobs, and all those long-forgotten crevices around the seats. Use your vacuum to finish the job.

Make It Shine

Once your interior has been organized and vacuumed, give it a good deep cleaning with some wipes or warm, soapy water. Be sure to get into cup holders, around the steering wheel, and across the dash. Don’t forget to clean the inside of your auto glass.
