One of the best things about living in Plano, Texas, is that there’s so much to see and do. The city is home to many notable attractions, including the Texas Pool. Now that the weather is warming up, it’s the perfect time to get familiar with the Texas Pool.
What Is the Texas Pool?
The Texas Pool is a 168,000-gallon saltwater swimming pool shaped like the state of Texas. Originally constructed in 1960, it’s undergone several renovations and repairs while maintaining its iconic shape. In 2019, the Texas Pool earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, ensuring that generations of North Texans will enjoy it for years to come. In addition to the main pool, visitors can enjoy water slides, a diving board, and a wading pool for the little ones. The tiles at the bottom of the pool spell out the names of Texas cities.
Texas Pool Membership
To support the upkeep and preservation of the Texas Pool, visitors can purchase memberships. Texas Pool members can take advantage of free entry to the pool, reduced-price passes for their guests, and entry to members-only events. A family membership costs $225 for the season, while an individual membership costs $100. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and available for private birthday parties and other events. Non-member visitors can pay $10 for a one-day entry.
