The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross sets itself apart from other compact SUVs on the market with its sporty exterior look. After a pause for the 2021 model year, the Eclipse Cross will return for 2022 with upgrades inside and out. The changes include a bolder exterior look, some refinements to the cabin to make it more upscale, and a new 8-inch touch screen for some trims. Here’s all you need to know about the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

The Models

The ES is the entry-level Eclipse Cross. It comes with 16-inch alloy wheels and keyless entry. The LE adds 18-inch alloy wheels, heated side exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED fog lights, and a rear bumper step protector. A step up to the SE trim adds automatic LED headlights and chrome exterior trim elements. Bump up to the SEL for a gloss-black front bumper center and upgrades in the cabin.

The Power and Performance

Power for all Eclipse Cross trims comes from a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder gas engine that produces 152 horsepower. It comes with front-wheel drive, and Mitsubishi offers their S-AWC, or Super All-Wheel Control all-wheel drive system for any model. Mitsubishi also made some improvements to the Eclipse Cross for the 2022 model year to make it more capable of handling corners while keeping the ride smooth.

Mitsubishi gives drivers a lot to get excited about with the 2022 Eclipse Cross. It has a new, bolder, but still sporty look, some new technology, and upgrades in the cabin that make it comfortable and more upscale.
